Why We Chose the Name Water
Water sustains every living thing, asks for nothing in return, and takes the shape of whatever it flows into without losing what makes it water. We chose this name because it describes exactly what we want this credit union to be for our members — and we have built four specific commitments around it, the same four qualities that define water itself.
Four Commitments, Like Water Itself
Every quality that makes water essential is a promise we make to the people we serve.
Transparent
Clear water lets you see all the way to the bottom. We commit to the same standard in how we communicate rates, fees, and terms — nothing hidden, nothing buried in fine print designed to be missed.
Clear
Water carries no confusion about what it is. Our products, our guidance, and our decisions will be explained in plain language, so members always understand exactly what they are getting and why.
Unbiased
Water flows to where it is needed without favoring one path over another. As a member-owned cooperative, we answer to our members, not to outside shareholders looking for the highest possible return — our decisions are built around what is fair for the people who own this institution together.
Adaptable
Water takes the shape of whatever contains it, without ever stopping being water. We intend to adapt our products and services to the real, changing needs of small business owners and solopreneurs — without ever losing the not-for-profit, member-first foundation that defines a credit union.
